So nearly at the end of the program, nowhere near running 5k yet tho ... did 3.5k today which is my furthest yet, and have to remind myself I had major surgery 4 months ago! Am thinking of steadily increasing my time when Iโve graduated, so Iโll eventually reach that golden 5k ๐ ... anyone else in a similar position? ๐โโ๏ธ

Week 9, Run 2 ๐ช
You are doing great.
Only a small proportion of graduates from this forum who responded to a poll, managed 5k in 30 minutes by graduation healthunlocked.com/couchto5....
Graduation requirements are that you complete three thirty minute runs, regardless of distance.
That's all I did in week 9 and I've never had major surgery x well done that is amazing
Congratulations on your recovery and for your W9R2 today . Your next run ๐โโ๏ธwill be so exciting . ๐
The key on the programme is to jog or run for thirty minutes non stop . The 5 K in thirty minutes is a goal which some people may achieve, I did not.
I did run non stop for thirty minutes .
After graduation, your start consolidation runs . This is where the magic happens . As you improve you stamina and technique , your be surprised what you will achieve , as long as you take it slowly. Remember, some days are great running days and some - are not so good - enjoy what you can and come home . Thereโs always another run-day ๐พ
Nearly there well done for getting so far. And for determination. Itโs a great feeling, I graduated yesterday and still smiling about it. Enjoy your graduation run then read the post C25k post that's pinned. C useful info on next steps. Have fun. ๐
Iโm going to do the same. Iโm graduating tomorrow, and expect it to be around 3k. Iโll consolidate that for a little while, then push to 5k, then get that 5k a bit quicker. Good luck ๐๐ป
I graduated just over a week ago and have been gradually trying to increase my time because I'm nowhere near 5K either. I managed 4.3K this morning in 38 minutes which is the longest I've run so far. I'm happy with that as I'm still a tortoise slow runner. 5K will come eventually but for now I'm just taking it one run at a time. Good luck on your journey
Well done and after surgery too ๐ I ran wk9r1 this morning and that was first time I hit 4k so probably won't hit the 5 by graduation but will work on that after ๐
