Morning to my Couch to 5K fellow runners I want to share my story 6 months ago I weighed 16 stone 101kg doctor said I am border line type 2 diabetic if I don’t change my lifestyle I am facing serious complications going forward. I am married and a dad to three amazing kids, so I came home and spoke to the family and cried it out and made a decision as it never to late, so I started firstly by cutting my meal intake ie getting rid of the big dinner plate and using smaller plates and halving my portion size and going for 45mins walks at lunch time, I lost 1 stone 6.35kg still not happy with 15 stone 95.25kg, I started couch to 5k and today I completed my first 5k 3.1 mile non stop running in 34mins, I would like to share today I weigh 14.2 Stone 90.3kg my goal is 13 stone 82.5kg I am pleased with what I have achieved so far, so I want to inspire those who have started this amazing program it you finding it tough sorry it is but don’t give up you will get to week 9 and you see the results keep on going together we can do this. Happy Weekend to all.
Week 9 run 2: Morning to my Couch to 5K fellow... - Couch to 5K
Week 9 run 2
Brilliant.. well done you! Nearly there now
Well done , that is so inspiring to read.
Wish I could do 5k in less than 35 minutes!
Roll on that 13 stone - you can do it!
Believe in your self and anything is possible. This program has changed my life I was a couch potato I just sat watching T.V didn’t want to socialise go out I hated my life, now I have so much energy and positivity I am passing on to my family. What stage are you at?
I just ran my first 10k last Tuesday
And I still feel awesome!
As you say believe in yourself, and you can do it. I still believe that one day I will get below 35minutes for my Parkrun time. Not sure exactly when that will be though! But at least I’m working on it. Did 5k this morning in 35.43, so I’m getting closer!

Well done, isn't it amazing what we can achieve if we put the effort in . Myself like you I had put in 4st due to stopping smoking 6 years ago , so I cut out the chocolate took up brisk walking then started c25k and I've now lost 3st just one to go. Good luck with the rest of the program and your continuing weight loss 😊😊😊
