3.95km in 35 mins this morning. Still a long way from being able to do 5K but that's the longest I've run since graduation so I'm happy with that. I don't want to pick up an injury so am mindful not to push myself too much plus I think its time for new trainers so I'm sure that'll make a difference when I have a new spring in my step. I'm just happy that I'm still feeling motivated enough to venture out and run now that I've finished the programme. Anyone got a good trainer recommendation?
Almost 4K today: 3.95km in 35 mins this morning... - Couch to 5K
Almost 4K today
Great progress!! I'm thinking a pair of new trainers have been earnt too! Where you thinking of looking? I have no idea where to start!
Well done Jillybean0141 👏🏻 I recently bought a pair of Brooks running shoes (have a look, they’re on my posts) that I find great, it’s normally advisable to by half a size bigger when it come to buying running shoes.....treat yourself, you’ve earned them 👍
That’s great, keep up the good work 😊
Good to hear! First time Ive logged on since "graduating", Ive done 3 runs this week. Thought Id managed 4k in 35 mins today, but it was only 3.8km. You are 150m up the street from me!!
Brilliant stuff. Ive done 3 runs since graduating and the most I have done is 3.9K. Im so pleased with that.
I got some Brooks running shoes- I went to a specialist shop where they get you on a treadmill and film how your feet land then recommend you shoes. I definitely feel a difference using these shoes!
I got a good pair from Decathlon (the original ones I bought from Sports Direct were ok for walking but not much cop for running!), many on here will tell you though that if you are going to run seriously then it's a good idea to get gait analysis done at a specialist running shop.
I went to have gait analysis this week and also bought a pair of Brooks running trainers. They are really comfortable, I felt I’d had them for ages as soon as I put them on. I also knocked 2 minutes off of my 5K walk/run the first time I wore them.
