Almost there!

Sorry for all the posts after each run, but it's my way of holding myself to account and making sure I get out there and do it; and how could I not with all you lot encouraging me?

So this morning was W9R2, and the first 20 minutes actually felt good ! Pace was probably quicker than w9r1, but I'm not too worried about that. I've mapped out that I need to do 7 laps of the lake to make 5k, and at the moment I'm trying to determine how many laps I can do in 30 minutes, and of course this means I need to work out where I need to press go 5 minutes and 25 seconds before I get to the start lol.

So what have I learned? Well in no particular order:

My long sleeve running top was probably a bit too warm to be comfortable today, I need to switch back to the running vests.

Contrary to widely accepted scientific knowledge, it is actually possible for me to run 30 minutes, I know this I've done it twice now.

Decent underwear is a must. As a bloke with chubby thighs getting some running undies has removed that awful chaffing, much more comfort = a much more enjoyable run.

I'm actually excited about doing run 3!

I'm not getting out of breath on the runs, although the legs are fading in the last five minutes, but I'm hoping that will improve with more miles.

My legs are now talking to me again on rest days, on w3 I thought they were going to apply for voluntary amputation!

C25K really does work!

I'm really looking forward to claiming my graduate badge later on this week :-)

I do agree with you scubasmiff that C25K works, we encourage runners to report on this forum after they run, well done on almost completing the C25K training course, you don't need to do 7 laps of that lake on run 3 of week 9, as long as you run for 30 minutes non stop, slow and steady, not necessarily 5K that will be enough for you to be a graduate of C25K, I wish you all the best for your graduation run

Well done - you are almost there!🤞👏 As AlMorr says, despite the name, the programme aims to get you running continuously for 30 minutes. Many folk don’t run a full 5K in this time, or ever actually - and that is okay! Take a look at Parkrun results to see the huge variation in 5K finishing times…all runners just the same!🏃‍♀️🏃🏽🏃‍♀️

Good luck with your next run!🙂

Great stuff! And post as often as you want! Every run if you find it helps, I certainly did during my first go at c2k5. The encouragement and support here really really helps, also reading everybody else's story's rely inspires me to get my butt out of the door when I'm really not feeling like it 👍🏻

Happy running!

sounds like you are doing brilliantly! Don’t apologise for reporting in so often - it encourages me greatly hearing other people discovering running too. Just keep it going
