Week 5 run 3

I have only gone and done it! And it was COMFORTABLE! flipping tortoise pace; medium walking pace, but I did not stop for the entire 20 minutes, heart rate a steady 140+ and it’s over before I knew it🌼

I’m in disbelief I think! I didn’t get The Runner’s “high” is usually do as I had at least halved my speed to allow for the extra length, but I was truly shocked at how this prog can turn me into a 20 minute runner in 6 weeks? Madness! Landed it’s done and I will be repeating it a few times fore going on to week 6, see if I can replicate it lol x

That sounds like a great strategy. I'm the same, I'm not too bothered about speed just now and I'm sure it'll improve over time. For now I'm basking in the success of running for 30 minutes non stop. I'm nowhere near 5K because I'm so slow but I'll get there one day. Congratulations again and enjoy that feeling today, you've earned it!

Hey, you've just run for 20 minutes non stop. That sounds like a runner to me :-)

Amazing, well done - I'll never forget that feeling when I first reached 20 minutes. Doesn't matter about pace at the minute as that will improve overtime, the most important thing right now is that you are comfortable and that you are enjoying it! Just a heads up - W6R1 can throw some runners off after running solidly for 20 minutes, as the next run you do will be the longest run you've done so far including the intervals, so just keep it nice and slow and you'll absolutely smash it like you have this run. Good luck! :)

Ok thanks , I’m planning on following Sarah’s tips and repeating this long run a few time’s first before starting week 6, hoping my thighs be like lean mean running machines by then haha

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊
