I did it I did it I did it I did it, I only went and did it, I detested the first minute of run one week one and just ran 20 mins without stopping average pace 6.3km πͺπ» I cannot believe it! Time to get rid of my fashion Reebok Classics and purchase some super duper trainers! X
Week 5 Run 3: I did it I did it I did it I did... - Couch to 5K
Week 5 Run 3
Well done! πππ»π€ΈββοΈ Such a great feeling and achievement! π Definitely time for some βproperβ trainers now, as the runs get longer. Enjoy your retail therapy! ππββοΈπ’
Amazing well done!! Wk 5 run 3 is a real turning point I think, the moment your brain catches up with your body and says Oh wow we CAN do this ππΌπ
You did it, you did it, you did it and you deserve to get a new pair of running shoes. π ππΎ
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran ππΎ π ππΎ
Amazing! What an incredible achievement! π Well done! I am about to do W4R1 tomorrow so hopefully I will be in the same position as you in a couple of weeks! π€πΌ
Oooh that gives me a bit of a boost - thank you! Good luck to you to for the rest of the programme!
And you too, keep posting your progress! X
Well done πthis gives me lots of confidence and determination to keep at it nearly finished week 3 π₯΅
Awesome!... well done to you!....
AND that's a fab pace too!...
Definitely treat yourself to some fab new running shoes
Well done you!! I am just about to go out any attempt that one βοΈ I can do it π
I just read your post saying you had done it whoop whoop! Btw, I did not cover 6.3km if that is what you were saying in your post, the above is probably not the right way to say it but I am only just learning, I meant minutes per km. My run distance was shorter than your overall today. You are doing fab πͺπ»
Oh bless you. I just know I am very slow and feel I need to try abit harder. I think I might do that run again before moving to week 6 as I did find it quite hard π
You are braver than me, I donβt think I could put myself through it mentally again yet! I have read so many posts on this and slow is actually recommended. I will keep an eye out for your posts πͺπ»
Just keep going slow it really is the best way, there will be plenty off time to work on speed if you choose to in the months and years ahead. You are very new to this and your body needs time to adapt, everyone is different so please donβt compare your pace with anyone else. I really struggled with w5r3, I didnβt get the amazing feeling at the end of it I just felt totally knackered. I thought I was going slowly but in Week 6 I made a really conscious effort to slow right down and I loved that week and felt amazing when I completed w6r3!
I will take all that on board. Thank you for all the advise. I have to admit I am not enjoying it yet I love walking but donβt know wether I will become a runner. π¬
To run 20 mins without stopping makes you a runner I think. I know what you mean though, I definitely would not be doing this left to my own devices, goodness knows what will happen when I donβt have Michael in my ear!
Yay well done! You've got this in tbe bag now. What a cracking pace too!!!
Well done!!! Week 6 a doddle now... you are now a runner for sure. Brilliant π
Yes! Treat yourself. I can feel the pride in your post! Brilliant!
Woohoo π₯³ well done and enjoy the new trainers. ππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈ
Well done. Thatβs my next run and I canβt believe it jumps from 2x8 minute runs to a 20 minute run!! How did you find it? I canβt say Iβm not dreading it a bit!! π©
Hmm how about this, I found it easier than running the first minute of week one? I honestly thought before I found this forum that run 3 week 5 was a mistake!! I didnβt go at my preferred time of the day but, I had a new playlist, 100% battery, did an extra five mins warm up walk and the first five mins of the run felt easy and went v quickly, 5 to 8 I started breathing heavily thinking oh no how will I last then I got into it and then it kept switching, two mins easier, two harder etc. My husband has been moaning as he thinks my heart rate stats are way too high so I didnβt go mad and that helped. Plus I had a hundred posters on here in my head saying slow slow slow. I strategically left a downhill run for the last five too. It is all relative, I would have said I was fairly fit before lockdown, it is amazing how quickly you can lose fitness but also amazing how quickly this plan is bringing it back. You can do it, I also motivated myself by saying if I did stop I would have to do it again so that spurred me on! Go out and smash it πͺπ»
Thanks so much for that reply. Like you I was a bit stunned today when I saw what was in store for me on Friday. I will get the tunes loaded up and give it my best shot. Iβm running on my treadmill because of shielding. I feel itβs cheating a bit because of not including hills in my run but itβs better than nothing. Keep up your running and thanks again for the motivation ππΏββοΈ
Thatβs a brilliant time and proper shoes make a difference π€ You have to send a picture to the site for the shoes to be admired π
Well done on your first big run π
