Today I did run 1 of week 2, I was dreading it when I finished week 1 as stepping up 50% extra sounded tough. It was tough, but not impossibly so. I struggled with the last run and stopped, but luckily only about 5 seconds before Jo spoke to me. I may re do this one if I feel bad about it at the end of W2. Having not ran anywhere for about 30 years, my head is up there smiling and surprisingly, dissapointed I'm not out tommorow. (whats wrong with me lol). I think the worst thing to do is look at week 6 or 7 etc and think "I will never do that". Reading other peoples brilliant progress on here, tells me there is hope.

Lovely post, well done it’s hard but totally worth it
well done 👏 just trust the programme it does work and you will be ready by the time you hit wk 6 and onwards 👍
Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
If you are dreading any run, then follow the link in the guide to the post about mental approach.
Enjoy your journey.
Im the same as you, and its really supportive for me seeing people in the same position to me and i can't imagine reaching week 5,6,7 etc. I also haven't run for years and I'm not going to lie I found the last weeks runs really tough and gave myself the weekend off. I was dreading week 2 run 1 so I choose to do it early morning and get it out the way and I was pleasantly surprised. It was my best run so far. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks to all the support on this forum.
I found it quite encouraging reading old posts on here about people struggling with early days and then spotting the graduate badge next to their names!
I honestly never believed I would be able to run more than I had in week 1 but here I am on week 8. I have repeated lots of weeks so it has certainly taken me longer than the 9 weeks. Also had a break at the beginning of lockdown. YOU TOO CAN DO THIS👍
Keep going! I religiously didn’t look ahead ... Just take it a week at a time, the next run at a time. You’ll get there!
Reading all the posts from people that were innitially as crap as me certainly gives confidence for the next step. I've been losing lots of time going through old and new posts on here. Feeling immensly impressed by all the different people that have got off their butts and done something, then shouting (quite rightly) "I've done it", never thinking that they actually ever could. The empathy and encouragement is 100% spot on
