New to this site and running!!

Hi, I have been lurking around reading a variety of posts, that by the way, have been very helpful as I continue on the couch to 5K journey. I am now in W3 ready to do Day 3 and so far it has been going well. I am by no means a runner, I work out 4 days a week, but running was never on my agenda. One of the things on my bucket list was to run a 5K before I'm 50. Well that number 50 is almost knocking on my back door so I thought it would be a great time to try this and see if I can do it. As I was thinking about actually entering a 5k and having it be my first one, I wanted to make it special so I asked my kids to run it with me. They were so excited about it they all said they would be there to run and support me. So we all signed up for the Firefighters 5K on Sept. 8th, it is the first one in our area for the firefighters, so we are very excited and I am a very lucky mom with very special kids!!

I just want you all to know that I am going to do this - I can do this - and your blogs are what keeps me going and finding out what to expect from week to week. It looks like week 4 could be a tough one, but I am determined to master it one way or another.

Thank you for letting my share my story and best of luck to everyone as we continue on this journey together!!

Ha You know since it is the Fireman hosting the 5K - that definitely was another incentive to do the race!!! I like the way you think Mirella!!!

I think I would manage to run 5K very fast with a fireman as pacemaker! Seriously, have a good run and keep blogging now you have started.
