This morning was my 9th consolidated run after graduation, I thought I would try the podcast stepping stones again. Tried it a few times and couldn’t get on with it- felt the pacing too slow for me.
Well, this morning was just awful, I stopped it half way and just put my own tunes on.
I felt my pace was all over the place, my knees hurt- never experienced that in 12 weeks since I started. I could wait to get home this morning.
What was I doing wrong if anything? My other consolidated runs I have listen to the C25K last weeks and feel more motivated!
Anyone else find the podcast odd pace or recommend anything else to keep me motivated?

It’s frustrating when things seem to conspire against you. Don’t be disheartened. I couldn’t get on with the C25k+ podcasts either - the music is awful, and coming to the podcast after running tech & music free since graduation, it was a real shock to the system!!
I’m following a bridging plan that roseabi created for a few of us and it gently merged into ju-ju’s Magic Plan (timed version). The variety of the runs keeps it interesting too.
Have you tried posting on the consolidation club for ideas?
Hi Clairabell, you’re doing great with 9 consolidation runs! Some runs just feel awful and there might be no reason. You don’t have to listen C25k + podcasts, just listen to something you enjoy. I had an awful run yesterday, my worst so far - maybe it’s because I gave blood the day before, or maybe I didn’t drink enough water, or because I skipped lunch before running (very busy day working at home yesterday). We all hope not to have days like that. The main thing is to keep running and even on the bad runs you’re improving. Keep going!!! 💪💪💪
Hi Dolly-dot, I’m really interested in the roseabi’s bridging plan. I’ve done 5 weeks of consolidation runs (3 times a week). Not sure I’m ready to try the 10K programme yet but would need something to gently ease me into it. Any advice appreciated.
roseabi put the plan together for a few of us who needed help getting to 5k during consolidation. Her plan is a stepping stone to the timed version of ju-ju's Magic Plan, as roseabi's plan gradually merges into ju-ju's and then you can work towards running for 60 minutes. Everyone who started out on the plan has reached their 5k and some have gone on to 60 minutes now too. The link below will take you directly to the chat in the May Consolidation Club post where roseabi wrote it down for us. Good luck!
I’ve just done my 2nd consolidation run with the Nike running app guided 30 minute run with coach bennet called “just a run”. I absolutely love it! I will certainly continue to use it there are lots of other runs but this one is just focusing on a none stressed for distance/pace 30 minute run
