After last weeks amazing 20min run, I was feeling super positive about this run and quite pleased to be getting some intervals back....... Now, despite the wise words of so many of the wonderful runners on this forum, I set off like a rocket π€¦πΌββοΈ far too cocky and the first 5 mins went quickly and I felt good..... nice 3 min walk to get my breath back.... next the 8 minute stint and suddenly my legs felt tired and achy, I suddenly thought βyou idiot, you are doing exactly what everyone said not to doβ π€¦πΌββοΈ A cpl of mins into the 8 mins I really tried to slow it down back to my usual pace. All okish, but after the final 3 min walk I found that my legs were SO not ready for the last 5 minute run..... it was a real struggle and I felt like I was wearing Victorian diving boots- not lightweight trainers. I got through it, but if only I had set off at my usual light jog and paced myself better!
My message to everyone coming up to W6, R1 is run like a tortoise!! Go slow and donβt be like me and think it will be easier due to the intervals!! Those sneaky little walks made me cocky..... I will be certainly heeding my own advice for the next run!!!

Thankyou! Hahaa, I know. And the silly thing is, I read through so many helpful comments regarding the run and not letting it catch you out and it still did π€¦πΌββοΈ I think I was just excited to get out for the run and that combined with the walking intervals I felt sure it would be fine!! What a fool!! π€£π€£π€£
Well done for keeping at it... it's horrible when those legs go isn't it? Onwards and upwards now! π (errrmmm... onwards and upwards slowly....) π
Thanks, I mean I wasnβt going to give up as it would only mean redoing it π€¦πΌββοΈ Yes my legs felt like I was dragging weights, awful feeling. And yes.....exactly......Slowly!!!!!!! π
I never get tired of reading about this run, so many of us fell into this trap π but hey, you clawed your way back and got through it which is the important part. Well done π
