So I went out at lunchtime today which I quite liked, usually it’s first thing but as I work at home these days, I didn’t even think about lunchtime running.. I’ve properly woken up 😀
I was all perky on the 5 min walk, was desperate to start running, like ants in my pants and so happy when Jo said .. off you go! Who knew I’d feel like that 6 or so weeks ago!! Well, I soon ran out of puff and had to slow it down. Despite being 5-3-8-3-5 (the 3’s are walk breaks if you’re not at w6), I still found it challenging. It’s so hilly where I am and so it takes it out of me running up the hill..but of course, what goes up must come down and I enjoy the downhill breaks 😉. I completed it without too much issue but I have to push myself, especially the last 5 running mins.
I don’t know much about these stats.. is anyone au fait and can enlighten me? Am I doing it right??

As for doing it right - if you are moving forwards and running when you’re supposed to be running then you are doing it right! 😉
Seriously, don’t worry to much about the stats at the moment. (I do love a good oversight of my run though!). Although, it’s hard to determine where you really are re: Ave. Pace, Speed, Cadence and Distance when including walking intervals ....
Let’s check back in on W6R3 😉 where you’ll see all those numbers drop down for a true reflection 💪
I've compared your stats to mine as I assume you're using a Garmin same as me from the breakdown. They are all normal from what I can see and fairly similar to mine actually 😁
Well as normal as mine can be for a 'slow runner' 😁
Your cadence (steps per minute) is higher than mine but I have a bigger stride at 0.9m
That’s fab, good to know we are quite similar, I think those hills make my steps a bit choppier, when I get to a flat place or of course downhill, I open up my stride more. I’m near Brighton so might drive to the seafront as it’s dead flat there! 😂
Crikey honey. Well done 👍. I just about get through the run and am not in the least interested in stats. I suppose we all do this for different reasons. Mine aren't to better anyone, just doing something for me.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your running journey ☺️
Well done I remember this being a tricky one for me to but I enjoyed it like you. You’re doing great and impressed you have a Garmin. I feel like I should be getting one now! 😀
Thanks, my friend loaned me her old garmin, it’s an Evosport and is perfect for my needs. It’s actually what got me into this as she gave it to me to try and I then joined here.. love it and well worth getting. You also get texts and messages etc on it - though can’t reply but at least you get the notifications 😊
I giggled at ants in your pants. I was like that this morning! I can’t wait to shake off the intervals. I know I’ll still need them for a while yet but today I got that pure feeling of freedom. I wants me some more of that 😎 Keep heart. You’ll get your rhythm back with R2 x
