I finished C25K on an absolute high several weeks ago. On about my third consolidation run, I was briskly walking to cool down after my half hour, as Sarah Millican always told me to do, when PING! I was knocked for six by a torn calf muscle.
I limped home, raised the leg, iced it and bought a compression bandage. I've been treating it and been careful ever since but on the two occasions I thought I was ok to try a gentle jog in the park, I've had enough warning pain to make me stop.
I've done no running at all for two weeks, I don't get pain when I'm walking but I am worried about running again without seeing a physio (as if I could get an appointment at the moment).
Any thoughts on this? I feel particularly lardy after lying in front of the tv watching Glastonbury all weekend and drinking beer and eating crisps. I'd much rather be consolidating and keeping myself fit as I was starting to enjoy the new me.

Glastonbury was very good, I watched it after my 5K run on Saturday and when I came back from my bike ride on Sunday.
Sorry about your torn calf muscle while walking after your run, all you can do is rest and not run at all until it is completely healed which I hope won't be too long.
I actually enjoyed it more than a normal Glastonbury as I was able to avoid all the bits I don't like! But definitely overindulged, down to the plate of nachos, the pizza and the veggie burgers I may have purchased from an imaginary catering van.
I'm not far enough along in my running to be confident I can pick up where I left off. I might go back to week 6 or something and see if I can pick up there...
I wouldn't rush it. I had a bad calf muscle tear years ago and it took ages to heal - every time it felt ok I would push it and it would put me back weeks. Do you have a bicycle or a static bike? That was the one thing I could do without pain and at least it would help you keep active. Good luck, hope it heals soon 🤞
