That's wk4 run one in the bag... whoop! I did go at a snail's pace mind you, but it's done and I'm feeling super happy! 5 mins was a bit daunting... but slow and steady gets you there. I figure I can work on my speed after gaining more stamina.
Happy Monday x

Hey, well done Sara-Wales! 😊 You totally got the slow running sorted and you’re experiencing the benefit! 👍You’re right, speed can come later on. 💕 Wales too! Lived there, in various places, for just shy of ten years. 😊🏃♀️🐢
I felt so elated afterwards Gannet1... I'm sure you know that feeling. Each run is an achievement for us all, huh... no matter what stage we are at in the programme.
Feeling less apprehensive about R2 tomorrow.... dare I say a little excited! So weird to feel that way..... so unlike me! 😊
You’re so right! Every run is one more time off that couch. 😊 It’s amazing how many “non runners” are loving this programme! 😄 Shame they didn’t teach it to us like this when we were younger, eh. 🤷♀️Yep, many happy memories of your homeland. 😊🏃♀️🐢
Yes, I am perfectly happy with just not collapsing afterward to be quite honest 😊
You know what they say.... you can take the Welshie out of Wales, but you can never take Wales out of the Welshie 🏴
I am week 4 run 2 tomo! We are in the same place! X it’s yuk lol, I’m hoping I am able to do it again now tomo, I felt like I had more in the tank but not much! How are you finding. It?
Let me know how you get on? I'm sure you'll smash it! 🏃♀️🙂
I feel the same uncertainty as you I guess.... my inner doubtful voice telling me that finishing the last run might have just been a fluke... but I put some gaffer tape over that pesky pessimist voice to shut it up and off I go.
I'm not saying I find each run easy - I don't. I have never been a runner. Like many here, I have shyed away from it from a young age, I was a sure bet to be last at any school race as a child 😊
I am learning to pace myself, which is helping... I still haven't nailed it yet, but if I start puffing a lot I just slow down. For me it's my inner voice that can be most difficult.... I am working on that too. When it tells me that "I can't do this", or "this is too difficult", I counteract it with "yes I can" or "you managed the last one, you can do this"..... I also try to distract myself looking at birds or shrubs. I'm hoping to learn the art of zoning out. I've experienced little fragments of being in that zone, but not for long as yet.
Overall, I guess I'm finding it a rewarding challenge. Each next run is an achievement. I feel so elated afterwards. I know that there may be a run or two that beats me at some point, but that's ok... I'll finish when it's my time to finish
Oh, I tell you what I did learn on my last run.... that heavy rain is a killer in the eyes! So I bagged myself a new running hat to reward my efforts so far and to help me see where I'm going on wet days! 😊🧢
Sounds like you and your support team 🐶 🏃♀️ completely nailed it, despite the down pour and some discomfort. Well done! Rest day, and possibly a 🍹?, most definitely well earned!
I am going for R3 tomorrow.... with my new hat! Not sure if I should have washed it first 🤔.... I have images of dye running down my face as I plod along! 🤭
