(nice one aliboo!)
Thanks! pleased with the birthday medal think he will like that!! Hope he logs in!
Thank youuuu, BP; it's greatly appreciated, thank you!
I celebrated with a 5 mile run this morning. How things change.
Hey B'day Boy!
The perfect distance for fun without trauma!!!
Have a super dooper day and maybe be just a little bit bad??? An extra square of chocolate or an extra fig perhaps??? More likely you'll pop out later and treat yourself to some steps to pound up
So long as you have a great day for YOU!
"the perfect distance for fun without trauma"... That cracked me up! 5 miles is my favourite distance by far and I was looking for an adequate way to sum it up. That's it right there; I'm borrowing that!
Steps tomorrow! Though I'll run up a set later as a treat.
I'm going to be naughty today and have a slice or two of chocolate banana bread, with chocolate icing. So very naughty. *looks guiltily in several directions*
Thanks once more, BP!
Hope your birthday was fab
Thanks Spoonie, it was really nice!
I'm glad you're here. I've been hoping to bump into you. I was randomly browsing the site while bored the other night and found something which made me smile. healthunlocked.com/start Scroll down the page, about halfway. Under the heading "great for your organization" and the panel to the left., which you can't really miss as it's our online home. Anyway, look whose post is featured on the panel!
Lol fame at last
I was hoping to write up my first proper after work run, but I've been really tired so I will try to make time at the weekend. I miss being able to spend so much time on the forum, I feel like I am missing out on things, important thing, fun things.
Fingers crossed money should magically appear in my bank tomorrow and we all know what means
Happy running
*blushes*
Thank you, Ali! What a fine birthday medal that is; you remembered my love of shiny shiny medalry!
Funny enough, one of my presents was indeed a medal hanger; a bloody great big thing it is an' all!
Thank you again, a birthday thread, how very nice!
Ta v much! i hoped you wouldn't mind!? A medal hanger all ready to be filled eh? that won't take long!

Happy Birthday!!! That cake sounds lush. Have a great day. Sure you'll have plenty of fun filling that mahooosive medal hanger.
Happy Birthday MY. Have a cracking day. Is there already another medal hanger on the list for Father Christmas?
Ha ha - he has signed up for rather a lot of races next year, hasn't he...!
Happy birthday M_Y. Guess you're spending it slightly differently from last year
FCC are my initials...the kids at school used to come up with some interesting (and often cruel) versions of that, but Fat Chocolate Cake was never one of them...I quite like that I'll never eat a slice without thinking it ever again.
Happy birfday mate! Have a great day...
If we put the cake at the top of those stairs in Sheffield you'll be the first one to it to blow out the candles anyway!
Have a good 'un!
Great thread Ali
Happy Happy Birthday Sweetie. Have a wonderful cake-fuelled day filled with lots of good things, including stairs since you love them so much xxx
happy birthday! hope you are having a wonderful day xxx
Happy Birthday I'm making cakes tonight to raise money for my GNR effort so I'll dedicate to you
Thank you, LF! How did the cake-making effort go? Thank you kindly for the dedication of cakery! Do you have a JustGiving page or anything?
Three days to go for you!
Cake making complete and I've managed not to eat them all (yet!) but small bit of sampling went on I have a Virgin Money page uk.virginmoneygiving.com/La... starting to get really nervous now, doesn't help I don't like crowds! On the plus side a colleague managed to convince my fiancé not to cycle over to see me but to bring the car so at least I get chauffeured home (probs stuck in loads of traffic) vs. having to join the massive queues for the metro or ferry (said colleague has a husband that works for the metro and the bad news is they are short of drivers for Sunday, inside info!) not been on Garmin at all, been far too busy hope your runs are still going well and you had a nice few days off
Well, of course you had to sample them, to make sure they were tasty and fit for consumption; how ever would you know otherwise?!
Excellent; donation made. It's brilliant, what you're doing. I know, as I'm sure we all do here, just how much effort is involved in it and how much you've put yourself through for it. I also admire anyone who can raise money for charity. I haven't for any of my races (though I have made donations myself to the official charities for each race) because, quite honestly, I hate asking people for money (though have no problem with others asking me for sponsorship!) and I'm doing that many races that people would get sick of me, (!) but for my HM in February and the M next year I think I'll do what you've done - set up a fundraising page and gently raise sponsorship that way, for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, rather than going on an all-out aggressive fundraising drive!
So glad to hear your fiancé will be there and will be driving you back! I imagine the traffic will be horrific but at least you'll be able to relax in the car and won't have to faff with public transport.
My runs are going well, thank you, I think! I say that as I got new shoes last week and I'm still getting used to them, slowly! Just got in from a 4Ker (was going to be a 3.5K, gentle, but I went a bit crazy and through a stair rep in and a bit of speed so it wasn't that gentle!) and am aiming for a long run tomorrow but will have to see how mt calves and feet are interacting with the new shoes. I'll do a long run but how long it will actually be I'm as yet unsure.
Try not to be nervous, you'll do soooooo well on Sunday!
Thanks for the donation! I keep getting shocks whenever I see how much people have donated, seat fallen off again I'm like you I hate asking but you've seen the total on my page, that was from 2 posts on Facebook and 1 work email it doesn't need to be aggressive and today is cake day and my parents still need to put theirs in once they are back off holiday (unfortunately my mum's going to miss the run but on the flip side she's on holiday enjoying what quality she has now so I don't begrudge her ) should have some time tonight so I'll be getting over to Garmin and seeing how far your new shoes took you look out for me on the TV, I'll be hot on Mo's shoes
Yes! Happy birthday old chap!
I hope you have a wonderful day, and that you treated yourself to a new marathon outfit!
Biggest hugs x
And the trumpets played ......Happy, Happy birthday evening - M_Y
Wishing you a blinging great year ahead ..... Cheers all the way x
I was so good, though I did have an extra bit of dark chocolate, and some malt loaf! Going to SD on Saturday to get a nice new long sleeved running top, for my birthday.
I did nip into an Asda today and was tempted by a Hello Kitty cake I saw!
Thank you, Kitty!
