Happy run anniversary Linda, I am so pleased that you continued your c25k journey because we got to meet and become friends through this. Itβs only been a year for me and like you I have no regrets either β€οΈ
Look forward to catching up again soon π Oh, I think I heard that community outdoor sports may be allowed to start in July... Iβm thinking parkrun π
Congratulations on your three year runniversary, I am sure you have enjoyed every run, or at least most since you graduated from C25K, yesterday I ran a 10K to celebrate my second runiversary, onwards and upwards ππΎ π
I'm not sure I could, in all honesty, say I've enjoyed every run - week 1 run 1 was particularly unpleasant as I remember π - but I've learned that after any bad run there are many more good ones and that's enough to keep me coming back for more π
ππΌπππΌπππΌββοΈπ Lovely. What a joyous post. Happy Runniversary indeed. And all the best for many more to come, as you go from strength to strength.
Hmmm ... it's not easy in the heat! Get out there as early as you can, stay to the shady side of the street (or through trees maybe), wear as little as decently possible, wear looser clothing, go a bit slower, drink plenty the day before as well as during and after your run ... wetting your clothes or your hair can help too. If in doubt, don't go as far/long in the heat, but add a little to a run on a cooler day instead (when I first graduated I felt all my runs had to be 30 minutes or 5k; once I relaxed and made some runs shorter, some longer, it all became more interesting). If it really is too hot to run take an extra day off - try some indoor strength exercises instead. Good luck. Take care.
Ahh, but without your kind and supportive response to my first ever post on here ... who knows, it might have been a whole different story π. What goes around, comes around π
It will happen when you least expect it ... it certainly crept up on me! It's so easy to have doubts or to feel like an imposter, but there really is no need to π
Happy 3rd runniversary Linda. I beg to differ, though - I am the most unlikely runner ever π And now we are all runners π Onward and upward πββοΈπββοΈ
You do have a point! There a lot of 'the most unlikely runners' who discover and stick with C25K π. A large number who all came to the program equally unlikely. But it didn't stop us! Onward indeed - happy running π
