Wk 5 run 3, Worried? Don’t be! You can do it.

I can say that with certainty because today I did it!!

Believe me when I say, if I can then anyone can!

Wk 1 run 1 was so tough, running for 60secs was nearly impossible. Then I watched the Japanese slow jogging video and it changed everything.

I was excited before I went today but a tiny voice in my head was still whispering that my body might not cope. I ignored it and embraced the rain and out I went.

I was also a bit worried I might find running non-stop boring but I really didn’t, I loved it!

I kept a steady pace (around 10 per Km or 🐌 pace as I call it) and even felt I had a bit more to give at the end.

Before starting wk 1 I was obese, unfit and thought running was not for me, but here I am 5 weeks later, a little less overweight, a little less unfit and feeling like running could be my thing after all.

Smiling so hard and feeling truly proud of myself for the first time in far too long. It’s hard to say that as I’m programmed not to shout about my achievements incase I look conceited or cocky but for once I’ll be telling everyone I know “guess what, I ran for 20mins today” 😆

So for anyone else worrying about this run, don’t! You can totally do it. Trust the crazy wizardry pokery of this program, listen to all the advice (slow, stretching, hydration etc) and most importantly believe in yourself, ignore the demons in your head and just enjoy the moment.

Hooray!! Isn’t that run just the best thing ever? My pace is the same as yours, and my story is very similar! I’m on week 9 an d I can’t believe I’ve got here. It’s so inspiring to hear other people doing this. Keep going, you’re amazing!!!

You too! I think that is what is so special about this program, it’s made me realise that we are all amazing, our bodies are incredible and can do so much more than I ever thought possible. That probably sounds crazy, I know I haven’t climbed Everest or ran a marathon but for me wk 1, the thought of running for 20mins might as well have been Everest 😂
