Week 3 started - I think I should avoid hills for now

I completed run 1 of week 3 yesterday, based on my new mantra of "slow is best". I found that, although I was going slow, I struggled with the hilly bits. I think I should avoid hills for now - any thoughts?

I would say yes! It's tough running uphill! I've run a few routes that I immediately regretted so now I stay on the flat. I'm planning on trying hills once I'm fitter and have graduated.

Agree with TheRajimuffin, avoid hills completely, i personally run around a football pitch half one direction and half the other, it's flat and grass and mud is much easier on your joints in my opinion. My 2 cents :)

Before taking on C25K I used to alternate walking and running, never more than a minute or so of running, and restricted that to downhill or at least level, so all the uphill was at a walk. Since week 3 I have opted to run on a grassy knoll, as it's the nearest to a level course round where I live. It is all on a bit of a slope, though never more than 1 in 10 and mostly 1 in 20, so not too steep. Of course I prefer the downhill parts, but if I go slowly enough it is not too taxing, and I hope to b building up some resilience. I certainly am not wanting to run on steep slopes, but keeping it slow works most of the time.

You’re at the same stage as me. I stick to a nice flat beach which I’m fortunate enough to live near.
