Week 3 completed - now believing progress is possible

There are so many posts from people further along/graduated who are amazed they’ve managed so much, and I’m seeing posts now from people just starting who feel a bit daunted. I guess I’m now nearer to the middle than to the start! And being able to continue making progress seems a reality! I am almost tearful to have done this much!! All the advice to slow down, then slow down some more, is spot on. I really value the support of this community. A couple of people I’ve told I’m doing this have asked how far I can run. Well I’m proud my MINUTES are increasing! My knees were aching yesterday (rest day) coming downstairs, but were fine on the run. I was doing the positive thinking “I am keeping my heart healthy!” It all helps😂 here’s to 2 rest days then bring on week 4 .....

Well done!! You’ll have to keep me updated on how week 4 day goes, I’m dreading this one the most😂I’m going to try running again this weekend, and continue where I left off😃

Thank you! That’s so good to hear you’re on the move again. How is your knee? I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you that the weekend run goes well x

How did it go Ellaloux?

It didn’t haha! It was still quite sore and I thought I’d only go and do more damage if I went for a run. It feels fine though today! So I’m going to give it a go tonight when it’s cooler outside😃

Well done!

I have just finished week 3 as well. Week 4 looks a bit daunting but I'll give it a go.

I’m the same. Finished week 3 this morning and starting week 4 on Monday. I try and keep my mind positive about it - I CAN do it, I WILL run 5 minutes! Good luck!

I know! 5 minutes!! 3 weeks ago I couldn’t run for a bus!! I’m with you on trying to keep the mind positive, that’s a major thing for me. It’s good to know other people are at the same point on Monday, I think it gives me a lot of motivation.

Me too! Just done, done the stretches and now relaxing with a big glass of water. The last couple of minutes were a real challenge but as you say - I did it!!

Hows week 4 going? I had to have an additional rest day yesterday but did R2 this morning. Feeling fab now!

Hi! Well done you! 👏👏👏 and I’m pleased you did it. I did run 2 yesterday, it was strangely more manageable than run 1, which was a surprise after w3r2 seeming so hard, maybe the cooler weather helped. I also felt great afterwards. 😁 Run 3 tomorrow and I am quietly confident I’ll do it. This is such a major mindset change since the first day. So fingers crossed it goes well!
