Set off nice and early this morning for wk3, run 1 in my new shoes. All was good and I took it slow and steady. My tummy muscles are aching a bit, I presume this is normal?

Everybody loves new shoes 😀

Regarding your tummy muscles. Yes it's normal, you use your core muscles a lot in running, they are what keep you stable and upright (and stop your torso over rotating).

It's always a good investment to do some core strengthening excercises.

I've started planking as well as running because it seems I have absolutely no core muscles. For the first 3;weeks, for days after running my middle/lower back was really sore. Now not at all so it must be the running /planking that's doing the trick! Well done ☺

Lovely shoes with those bright laces. Happy running in them. Have not had tummy muscles ache so no advice there, sorry.☺

Ooh lovely, new shoes! Looks good, but you do realise that's just the start? Next it will be running socks, new capri leggings, tops, sweatshirts, cap, running watch...

As for the tummy, just don't overdo it if it gets too painful. Strengthening exercises will definitely help, good luck!
