Week 1, Run 1

Good morning,

So completed my first run last night, went pretty well to be fair. I felt I could run a little further but stuck to the programme.

Looking forward to run 2 🏃🏽

Ahh the sweet elation of run 1 week 1, I remember that to... (I was a very unfit dad lol!).

Well done sir on starting the program. Keep it up, listen to your body and above all, believe in the process, it really works. We will all be here as you move through!

Congratulations!

Thanks, I have done some running before but nothing with any structure. So I would just get up go and run as fast as I could and as far as I could. Didn’t really give any benefits as would be in so much pain and exhausted I wouldn’t go again for weeks.

So I thought I’d give this a go and try to stick to it. Hence why I mentioned I felt I could run further ha ha.

Lol ok - Yes consistency is always the key! Small, achievable compound changes are the key - as per the training increments each week.

Good luck

Welcome FitDad.

Enjoy the journey and this positive community.

Your running background will hold you in good stead but keep to the programme and leave the heroics on the back burner for the time being.

Look forward to seeing you progress & your posts.
