Repeat week 6?

I was so pleased with myself when I completed week 5, but what a different story for week 6! I’ve found each of the 3 runs tough, I did complete them but as I struggled all week I’m not sure I should progress just yet. Advice please on whether I should simply repeat week 6? Hopefully I will then feel a bit better about everything before I move on to week 7.

I've been doing the plan slowly and repeating runs for a few weeks as I've for used to it, plus with a busy job and elderly parents being unwell my training schedule is getting disrupted . There's no shame in repeating or redoing, as long as you keep moving!

Week 7 is a repeat of week 6 run 3 so I would suggest moving on and giving week 7 a shot. I didn't find week 6 easy but I'm making it through week 7. It's challenging but in a good way. However, there is no harm in repeating runs.

Hey, well done on finishing week 6. I found this a tough one and repeated a couple of the runs before doing run 3 which is the 25mins one. I've done this a few times on the programme, to build confidence when I'm just not feeling ready to move on yet. But as Tap_per mentions, week 7 is a repeat of run 3 of week 6, a full week of 25 mins runs to build up stamina at that distance/length of time. So I'd say if you managed the 25 mins run in week 6 then keep going to week 7👍I'm just in the middle of week 8 so not far ahead of you. Ive also had interruptions to the scheduled every second day runs because of elderly parents s d work issues but I found even having a few days between runs is ok, I was worried that 2/3 daya break would push me back but it's been ok, maybe even good to get longer recovery after longer runs. I found taking a different route really helped to take my mind of things so worth a try. Good luck 😊

I’ve found w6 quite hard, especially run 2 - it was hot and humid which won’t have helped, but i did my usual trick of going too quickly and nearly burning out. Got run 3 today, so I’ll let you know what I think later!

I've just done W6R1 so Thu will be a challenge by the sound of it! But will take your advice & run earlier in the morning around 7am.

So I was still undecided as I started the warm up walk this morning, then thought... just go for it and pressed the wk7 button! My theory being, if I’m unable to complete it then I’ll repeat or go back to week 6.

And I DID IT, I am starting to believe I can do a full 25mins run, my body isn’t suffering too much it’s all mind games, and today proved that.

Thanks all for your advice and support, I find comfort, and even get a little boost by reading posts and replies on here, you know you’re not the only one going through it!

Thanks and good luck everyone, as I’ve read on here and heard Laura say, “trust in the programme”. 😁

Like you, I struggled with Week 6. Before that I had felt a steady improvement and surprised myself by managing to do all the runs. In fact, since I finished W6, I’ve lost my mojo and have not been back out for 2 weeks. Stick with it - don’t be like me! Do W6 again if you are nervous and knock it out of the park.
