After 3 rest days due to illness I’m back! Finished a very hot and sweaty Run 1 of Week 5 - any tips for running in heat?

Maybe take a bottle of ice cold water with you, that you can both drink from and douse yourself with.

I tie a wet bandana around my wrist - it helps me to not feel so hot throughout, but is also very welcome across my forehead from time to time!

That's a really good idea, when I'm hot I run my wrists under the cold tap and it's a quick way to cool down.

Great job. Apart from the usual go slow (which applies in all conditions) good technical fabrics to wick sweat away, extra caution on the hydration, go out earlier (or later) to grab some cooler air... and my personal favourite: spend your days watching the weather app on your phone for possible rain showers to run in. Sometimes I even try singing to bring on the wet stuff. And having read one of the other replies, a running buff soaked and worn as a beanie keeps me cooler for a couple of miles.

I run early or late to avoid the heat.
