Well 'ill hold my hands up and say I actually missed a run yesterday. I had one of my best friends Dads funeral 2 days ago and well, my diet went a little out of the window due to going to the pub and having a few beers with him and some close friends. It was a strange experience as 1st time ive been in a pub/bar since March due to covid. As this was a private affair I felt safe and gave his Dad a great send off. Then the day after I played golf with them all, and not being a drinker - I think the drink sapped all my energy! but we had a good game....4hrs of solid walking up and down hills. So i decided to do my run today.
I got up this morning, put my running gear on and it rained so heavy for 4hrs solid and decided to do my run later - and I have just done it !
As always my first run on a new week is a shock as it was a group of 5 min runs today....and was great !!! I started out of breath to start with on the first 5 mins and slowed it right down and started to control my breathing again - and then the remaining times, was perfect.
Laura (my running fling!) said in my ears to imagine the finish line....and I did just that and god knows what the people looking out the windows must have thought when i shouted YES, YES and punched the air with joy while I had Katy Perry pumping in my headphones and Laura telling me how great I was over Katy's singing and then greeted by my wife!! Lovely combination!! hahaha!
My wife took a photo on the balcony of our holiday home straight after my run.
Another great run.....another success.....let's bring on then next one.

thanks.....loved this one. I did think at the start of the run if I was going to do it as.....but had to find my breathing rhythm as well as my running one.....its like a live band, they have to be playing the music at the same speed to get to the end !
You're an inspiration, got this to look forward to next week 😁
thank you so much - we all are on here. Good runs, bad runs, no runs, if we keep at it - we will do it.......and this group is half the run! Keep it up you.
Thank you. Yeah - was hard for a few moments ! and my reports after each run will be true and honest as I want to look back on this and see my progress etc...
Well done, sounds like you are smashing this challenge! I have been leaving more than a day between runs quite a bit as I need time to recover. Now I’m getting fitter I’m hoping to close the gap a bit.
Adie it does a heart good to see how well you are doing! And btw you really look like you are losing weight. Keep it up your success makes me 😀 you should be proud !
A..thank you so much, means a lot.....i felt like i put weight on due to the few beers we had ! but back on it all again now, just had prawns and veg and little bit of pasta....plenty of water today too as felt I didn't get enough water last 2 days.
hey - thank you....yeah, I know deep down that if I didn't report back on here each run I might wobble and not stick to the program! This group is a massive reason why im doing it as well as enjoying it. Love my reports after....and the photo!!! - thanks for the words, means a lot.
i know !!!!....you know when I do a run post I actually have to check on my post history as I keep thinking its week 3 or start of 4....when I typed week 5...i was in shock!!!
Thank you! yeah this is Brean in Somerset, we have a holiday home here. I have started to look at park runs, but they are all closed due to Covid, but once I have done.....(i hope i do!) my 5k I want to keep it up. I will still report back on here and a be a huge park of this community.
Adie J, very well done! Not just because you completed the run but also your infectious positivity, your great, entertaining posts and yes love your picture, such a beautiful place to relax! My w5r1 will hopefully be on Sunday!
