Week 5 Run 1

Better now, anxious to get back out there and did week 5 first run this morning. It’s been so apparent, doing this a second time, that the psychology is much, much more than 50% of the battle. Last time, at this stage, I was full of trepidation and completely unconvinced that I could do this run. This time I knew that I could do this - and it felt fairly easy. I’m even looking forward to the next run. Plus: I got some new trainers- Brooks Ghost 12 - and they are AMAZING! I hadn’t realised how squashed up my wide feet were until I got these. They’re really light and I think my foot strike is better too - less on the heel.

I’m going on my funk run of week 5 and it’s amazing that doing this for the second time I haven’t struggled as much as I thought in my own head.

Well done for going I think I need to invest in a decent pair of trainers though to keep this up

Just finished W5 R1 this morning for the second time too. I 100% agree with you, I quite enjoyed this mornings run but week 4 I found myself wanting to quit and I had to keep telling myself I've done this before so I can do it again. I think I'm looking forward to the continuous runs again.

I have just messaged my friends to say I’m week 5 day 3 today and unless you are a couch 5k fan it probably means nothing!!! I’m second time round too for this and hear the comments about it being in your head. My fitness is slowly coming back and helped by my off road runs where I have to circumnavigate all the people walking their dogs 🐶 it’s a brilliant focus and I love reading the comments. Keep going and fab news about the shoes 👞 x

Well done!! I ordered the Brooks Transcend yesterday- can’t wait to get them and good to know you love yours! I start week 4 tomorrow and am suffering with knee pain so hoping more supportive trainers might help a bit!! Best of luck with the final weeks of the programme 😀

Love the recommendation on the trainers, my next run is W3R3 and think my next step will be to invest in some good trainers
