I’ve had a tough week. Week 5 run 1 was abandoned due to falling over and bruising my knees... nothing serious! I managed run 2 but the 20 minute, run 3 I completed today on my 2nd attempt. I was too stressed to believe I could do it and couldn’t regulate my breathing or legs first time but today after a very, very very slow start I believed I could and I did!!! I wasn’t a sweaty mess at the end like normal either, probably because of the colder weather. I’m pleased! It’s a tough programme but I think a lot of it is in the mind and just jogging at a comfortable snail pace! We can do this!!
Week 5 done!! Yeah!!!!! : I’ve had a tough week... - Couch to 5K
Week 5 done!! Yeah!!!!!
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, glad that you enjoyed your run, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊
Congratulations, Cloud10! W5 R3 is such a huge milestone, well done you! 🎉 I had been nervous about that run since week 2 and couldn't believe it when I got there and indeed ran for 20 minutes nonstop. I agree that it's rather a mental then a physical challenge as the weeks before perfectly prepared us. Now onwards and upwards to week 6! 👍
Congrats 🥳
Well done - you should be so proud of yourself! Week 5 was the week I was most scared of, it’s a huge milestone and you’ve done it! It’s definitely a mental challenge, but you’ve overcome that now. Onwards and upwards! 🎉
Congratulations! This is a huge milestone you have just accomplished! Now bottle that feeling up and really let it imprint on your brain. This particular run really marks you out as a runner now. And now that you know you can do this, it really, really helps push past that Toxic Ten, and in building even longer times. Now have a good rest and really take care of yourself on your rest day/s. Like the others have said, W6 is quite deceptive. I remember looking at the schedule and thinking, "What? That looks like a step back"...but it isn't. Its back to interval training, which we all did on our training, without realising we were actually putting in some really hard work. So, take it really slowly and pace yourself. You have done absolutely amazingly and let yourself really, really enjoy this!
Congratulations!! You’ve actually cracked it when you said “I believed I could and I did “. I say this over and over again in this forum but I believe from now on the program is about brain training and you’ve already realised this. The end is in sight - keep positive.
Well done. I start my W5R1 tomorrow & haven't peeked to see what's in store as I stressed myself out last week when I peeked at W4. So I agree with you about it all being in the mind. I'll find out tomorrow morning what's in store (gulp). Good luck with W6!
