Week 5 Run 1 Oh yeah!!

I tried, really hard, to not look at what was in store for this week and managed well until my friend sent me a message telling me! I was surprised about the first session, it sounded ok, 3 x 5mins, very 'doable'. Then she revealed run 2 (2 x 8mins) - maybe - and finally 1 x 20 min?! What? Can I possibly do that? It seems a massive leap up!

Run 1 went really well today, it actually felt good, we had to change our venue and one of the dogs had to stay on a lead (on a waist belt) but it wasn't too bad at all. I think I am starting to really believe I can do this!

Good stuff. No need to fear W5R3, its bark is worse than its bite.

Keep it nice and slow and I am sure you will be fine. The fact that you found today's run to be quite comfortable bodes very well.

Thank you! I am starting to really believe that this programme does set you up to succeed so i am hoping that will be the case for run 3, it just sounds such a massive step up! 8 minutes doesn't sound too awful, I was thinking about it as we ran today and it's only the run we did, plus the 3 minutes walk, so I 'think' that will be ok but R3 eek! I will report back!!

Congratulation!!! Now you are way ahead of me ;) Keep it up! You can do it! Focus on the run you're doing and enjoy the ride :)

You can't be far behind me! I think today was the first time I really enjoyed the run, which is nothing short of a miracle! I didn't ever really think I would actually enjoy it!!

I hope I will enjoy it as well. First, I need to get better before I will run again. So I have a break from running due to illness :(

None of us looked forward to week 5 run 3, it feels like such a big leap. But we all got through it and are here on the other side! You can do this, trust in the programme :)

Thank you, that is what I am telling myself, to trust in the programme. I am secretly kinda looking forward to testing myself with run 3!

It's more mind over matter that you'll have to deal with. You'll be telling yourself that you can't do it in your head but ignore that inner voice, you are ready for it :)

I really hope so!

You do not need to worry about the W5R3 - I did it this morning and, suprisingly, it was not as bad as I feared. It is possible, take it slow & have trust in Laura.

Just keep taking it slow.

Haha I know! I'm so shocked! I was whingeing about 3 minutes running only a couple of weeks ago!

I think that's the glory of how it works.

Yay, well done. I did W5 R1 last night too and although I was a bit nervous and realised I had only had one cup of coffee to drink all day (!!) I managed. However i'll never run on so little fluid again.
