Hi well done that's a great achievement. I just done wk7 run 3. I was exactly like you in week 5, got thru runs 1 n 2 but was nervous about run 3. You don't need to be, if you've done runs 1 and 2, you'll complete 3, the program has prepared you for it. Listen to your favourite tunes and run slowly, you'll feel great at the end. 🏃‍♂️👍🏃‍♂️

Congratulations on completing runs 1 and 2 of week 5, unless you really struggled with those two runs I would "go for it" the program has prepared you for that run, take it slowly, once you have completed it you will be very proud of yourself, good luck. 👍 🏃🏾

Have a look at all the Week 5 Run 3 posts on this site - there's thousands of them!

If you managed Week 4 and W5R1, and W5R2 ok then you're in prime position to do W5R3 which is actually a mental challenge, not a physical one. Your body is prepared for it but your mind tells you other wise.

Crack on.

PS Slow down a bit if you struggled in W5R2. Very simple but it works.

Well done on getting this far🙂

To echo the other replies, just go for it. You will be able to do it. The plan has prepared you.

I have just done run 3 of week 7 and I felt the same time way - it seems like a big jump but it is all in the mind. Just take it slow and steady and you will be fine.

You will be so proud of yourself when you have finished! 😀

Definitely just go for it. I felt just the same and thought I'd collapse doing 20mins, but somehow the programme gets you through. There's always a bit extra in you, so go for it and if you can't do it, then repeat. Keep moving forward. I'm on W6R2 and finally feeling sort of OK at the end of the run. Keep going! Good luck!

First time post for me too and I've just done my W5R3 run. I too struggled with the 2 x 8 minute runs even though I jog very slow so I "knew" that I wouldn't be able to do the 20 minute run but I decided that I'd just see how far I could go and was aiming for 10 minutes. I thought I'd better go a bit slower than normal and got going and it was tough just like every other previous run.

I started and knew I could do 8 minutes as I'd done it a couple of times before but it was still tough. My goal at that point was to get to 10 minutes so I carried on. At 10 minutes I thought wow I'm half way and I can do a couple more minutes. At 12 minutes I thought I'm 60% of the way through and 3 more minutes would take me to 3/4 of the way there. At 15 minutes there was no way I was going to give up and I knew that I would do it.

Honestly, I was 100% sure I couldn't do it but I just wanted to see how much I could run. It's amazing what you are capable of, and this run is a "mind over matter" challenge. Just give it a go and maybe go a bit slower than your normal speed even if you think you are already running too slow.

You will be surprised at the 20 mins...and it will show how all your training has worked. Just keep your pace ...and focus on a podcast or some music.. you have this..you've trained for it ⭐🍀⭐

I think you will find a pace and fine it over rather quicker than you thought...that's talking from personal experience and I was totally shocked I managed it. I agree with the programme...it is mind over matter now because you have done the legwork now.

I did my am 5 run 3 yesterday and I too felt just as you do. Go for it. Don't run too fast you will be surprised how who it goes - you can do it 🙂

Totally agree it’s mind over matter. I literally just completed it. Something I couldn’t have conceived of 4 weeks ago. I couldn’t sleep last night I was so nervous... then forced myself to have an extra snooze in the morning so I couldn’t use tiredness as an excuse for not finishing it! I’m elated...

I would just go for it. Best of luck!
