Tomorrow I will donn my running gear for the first time in a long time. I started the Couch 2 5k about 7/8 years ago, thoroughly enjoyed it but got to week 8 before getting injured. The couch recaptured me.
I’m 41, 6ft 2” and just a shade under 23 stone. My BMI is huge, in fact it’s roughly the same as a pork scratching. I’m also back calorie counting, and hoping I can lose a couple of stone this year, slowly, slowly.
I’ve been on a few brisk long walks to try and remind my body what exercise is, and tomorrow I will embark on week1 run1 once more.
See you at the finish line.

Congratulations on going to start C25K, we all wish you luck with the course, running in itself does not guarantee weight loss but if you have a controlled healthy diet while you are doing C25K both your weight and BMI should be reduced.
Welcome back 😄 I first did C25K up to week 5 around 6 years ago, and couldn’t believe how much harder it was this time round! Good luck for tomorrow, hope it’s not too hot for you 👍🏻
I did the C25K last year. Found it really hard but got there in the end. Got a bit lazy so started it again a year later and actually, am finding it much easier this time. The mental barriers have diminished because I know i did it before. Best of luck, you can do it. Take it slow.
Start now! Eating sensibly, eat smaller amounts. Cut processed foods , eat fresh foods. Drink water. Eat about 500 calories per day less than you burn. Make sure you’re in a calorie deficit and make sure it’s tangible and sustainable. Nutrition comes first. Rule of thumb; Eat meals max size of volume of water you can hold with hands together. Eat meals containing more than 5 different colours.
Me too on the weight loss! (But not 6ft 2in) just had the SW overnight oats with blueberries to reward myself after my run. Very filling and satisfying. Good luck and even a pound a week means nearly a stone lost be end of programme and we all know men lose weight quicker.
