Ouchy Ouchy Legs! (W1 R2)

Second run completed and I feel fine. Apart from my body.

My legs were aching from the first run following years of aggressive inactivity. It's not the cardio that I found tough, just my legs having none of it. I might have to rest an extra day until my legs adjust. Still, second one in the bag...

Well done on running the first two runs of week 1, the aches are caused as you say by years of agessive activity but if you keep with the program those aches should gradually ease, onwards and upwards to run 3 of week 1, remember to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration, you can repeat any repeat any runs or week's if you wish to.

Thanks for the tips, and it's good to know I'll feel less achy as I go on.

Well done Grandma! Painful or not, you went for it and completed it! Great result"

Keep going. I am with AlMorr on this! The pain will hopefully be gone by week 3! ;-).

One more and your week 1 will be completed! :-D

Make sure you drink plenty of water each day and do your stretches at the end of each run, eventually your body will get used to it 😊

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.

As a runner you need to drink 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.
