You will be amazed at the power of the programme. Mid July I struggled to run for a minute and a half. Today I graduated πŸ˜€ Persevere. Slow down then slow down some more if you are struggling. Use this fab forum for support and advice. You will run for 30 minutes and become addicted to it on the way 😁 Happy running πŸ‘ŸπŸƒπŸ‘ŸπŸƒ

Is there hope for you? Hmmm...well, let's see. You obviously have two working legs and lungs. You have completed the hardest run of all - Day One - and are still wanting to finish the hardest week of all - Week One.

Yes. There is a heck of a lot of hope for you :)

Read the early posts of Graduates and you will find we ALL had the same worries, hopes and ambitions as you :)

And we made it! And while I would love to say (not really but you know what I mean) that I belong to a 'select group of amazing athletes' the only selection involved was selecting to go out the front door each running day :)

Mind you - I am very glad to be in a group of such GENUINELY amazing people. I would not have gone beyond week three without them. While we may run on our own 'round here, we certainly do not run Alone :)

Best wishes, take it slow and steady and you will most certainly make it :)

Thankyou Irish John I will defiantly keep this up πŸ˜„

It will happen. It will.I graduated just before Christmas last year...when I began..I thought, as many of us...no way is this going to work. Ever.

A year on..a year older..66.. I just managed 10 K on my runniversary..here I am...like so many of us.

You will do this...trust the programme, slow and steady..rest days and gently does it. And...enjoy the journey πŸ™‚

Well done :)

I also did my second run today (and had technical issues with the podcast - can't use the app as don't have anywhere to put my phone!).

Let's try and help each other - we can do it!!! :)

Well done for completing your 2nd run. You've made a good start in getting that far. Many, many of us have been through that stage of wondering how we can possibly hope to run for 30 minutes when 1 minute is so hard going but the programme is so well structured that we find ourselves managing it and going on to do more. Personally I found the podcasts better than the app - I found Laura very helpful. Just take it slowly and you will be fine :-)

Brilliant, and I know what you mean, I can remember thinking that and I have now done 2 marathons so it is so doable... one run at a time 😎

Most of us struggled with 60 seconds running, so you're in good company. I can still picture myself gasping for air and feeling like I would keel over. Believe me, in a few short weeks you'll be amazed at your progress. It wasn't the running parts that I noticed got better, rather it was my recovery times that improved significantly.

Well done Lizzy70 you're doing great already! And it looks like you and CookieM can be running buddies too 😊 Having someone at the same point in the programme can be a real help. You can spur one another on and we'll all be cheering for you both too.

It seems like such a daunting prospect doesn't it. I never believed I could do it but I did. The folk on here are a special kind of awesome and I couldn't have done it without them and all of them will be right with you every step of the way :) Enjoy your progress, you will be seriously amazed at what you can do!
