I have just completed week 3 run 3 and it was my first run outside, it was awful.
I have been using a treadmill set to an incline (as read on here that was best) but nothing had prepared me for the outside world. I had begun to really enjoy the programme and looked forward to my treadmill sessions, I have been running all over the world thanks to the iPad and wonders of treadmill scenery videos on YouTube.
I found the first week tough going and repeated it but then I enjoyed the last two weeks until today. I kept my speed down, took steady deep breaths, I am thinking of repeating week 3 but perhaps do it all outdoors to acclimatise?

It’s funny how it seems so different. I think a treadmill keeps your pace the same where as when we are outside try as we may are speed changes. You can do this you will get used to it just like you did in the treadmill. Well done for getting up and starting.
I think I am more determined to keep trying outdoors now, I will not be defeated. I kept trying to think about the other posts I had read on here and as I felt like I was running on the spot and thinking how ridiculous I must look, I kept thinking of all the others who must be feeling the same when really other people passing have no idea how far I have run. You can tell I am much more optimistic now I have cooled down 😊
I did all the c25k on a treadmill and when I decided to do my 1st run outdoors it was a lot different. If you stick with it you will soon get used I can now switch between indoors and outdoors running fairly easily and much prefer outdoors. Stick with it it’s definitely worth it.
I will stick with it, I suspected it would be different and take some transition which is why I tried it now but I didn't appreciate how hard I would find it. I will now see the treadmill as a treat 😂
