Week 8 run 3 super sad to have stop running half way through as I kept getting pain in the side of my knee. So frustrating as so close to graduating. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this and how long you waited and what you did before running again??

Pain in side of knee
I'm no expert here but I'm mindful of road/pavement camber. Where its pronounced I mix it up as I feel the pressure on the knee at the highest part of the camber!
Pain in side of knee - IT band syndrome
Yes, I did something something about this. I suppose just need to look into how to heal it
I do- on inside of knee. Have stopped at week 7 as I can’t run on it. If its outside I think it’s your IT band as Tasha said. Mine is Pes Anserine Bursitis. So sad to have stopped isn’t it. Hopefully yours will get better with a little rest.
Ilio tibial band too tight. Pelvis mis aligned. Run the heel of your hands down the side of the thigh that’s hurting.... massage from side to side. Transverse abdominals..... deepest muscles in your pelvis are not supporting you. You need to strengthen those muscles. Look on line for tips. ( I’m a Pilates teacher specialising in injury and rehab) squats are necessary. Strengthen your glutes look at your running technique..... it’s not the wns of the world...... this happened to me training for the 2007 marathon...... i did the above and finished, all be it slow 😃

Enjoy your journey.
Hi IannodaTruffe, this is really helpful. A lot of useful information. I will definitely look at doing these strengthening knee exercises after a run going forward. I do need new shoes, but unfortunately can't go to a running shop to get ones that are right for me right now, so stuck with my cheap ones!
