A gin related injury to my head meant I woke at 5, but was in no state to leave bed for a run, so had to wait until after I did the shopping. Still have much more trouble getting going in the first 5-10 mins than on the shorter runs earlier, but once that is over with I have no problems. I did forget to drink more than a small glass of water which didn't help. I used to walk for 1k rather than 5 mins before I started the run to get over a main road, so might do that again to see if it helps.

Got to the point where the 28 min run finished on Thursday, and I realised that Laura had quit on me, the last time I heard her was the 5 min mark. I'll let her off, given the activity on the forum she has been getting worked quite hard recently. I ran for 2 mins past the previous end point in week 8, so should be reasonably close.

Today was a day of firsts - first time running for 30 mins, and first time experiencing runners nipple. I think I'd rather have my knee pain back.

2 to go!

Well done for getting out there. Those head injuries don't make running any easier, speaking from experience 😂🍸

That first 5 to 10 minutes will never go away. Even experienced athletes face it. Its known as the toxic 10! But at least if you know about it, you can mentally prepare for it.

Great going, keep up the good work
