Well done on starting C25K with run 1 and 2 of week 1, I am sure you by the time you graduate parkruns won't have resumed, you may have to wait until next year, hopefully by then you will have ran many 5Ks, good luck for your running, take all the runs slowly, drink plenty of water to keep hydrated, no running on consecutive days, good luck for your running journey with C25K 😊 🏃🏾.

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Me too! I did the W1 second run today and enjoyed it. Good to see someone else at the very start of the programme! I can’t even think of 5k yet, running more than a minute will be an achievement 😁

It is an achievement! I found that first week very hard. If it hadn’t been for Laura I wouldnt have managed it. Don’t think of what’s ahead and just follow the instructions to the letter. We probably have a while before Parkrun , so there’s plenty of time. Repeat days or weeks if you like.

But these days, who knows where the week starts??

It feels a real achievement to have got started, not concerned about doing it alone. It’s good to hear from other newbies, there in spirit!

It flies in I find. I couldn’t finish day 1, week 1 and here I was this morning completing week 3 day 1. It’s amazing

Welcome. Do it at your pace that’s my advice. Enjoy the exhilaration you get when you’ve finished a week of runs. I do, even now. I’ve popped back to week5 after a break (was at week 7). This chat site helped me enormously when I was finding it difficult

I'm also starting week one. I ran my first run yesterday so will also be joining you all on Friday :)

I'll be running on Friday, too. W3 R3 for me - already! When I started I didn't really believe I'd be able to run for more than a minute, but I'm actually enjoying it - felt quite tearful after the last run, in a good way! Good luck everyone :)

Yes! Week 1 completed. It starts as a stumble-jog, by the last run it was almost proper running. I swear my brisk walk is brisker 😂 I think I’ll have to look at what W2 plan is to know what to expect. Hope you’ve all managed your runs today too x
