I can't belive I've got this far considering on w1r1 I went home and sulked halfway through as I couldn't do it!! For me every run has been so hard as I never do exercise and the last time I ran was in school and I'm now 58. Start of w4 on Friday and feeling nervous about the 5 minute run as I've just scraped through the 3 minute runs.

You and me both. I found the 3 min runs hard going but we did it ! I start week 4 on Friday - we’ll get this done together - slow and steady - ok 👍😅

I am about to do the last Wk 3 run and have found it hard. Was considering repeating this week once I've done it as Wk 4 looks just incredibly hard! is this advisable ? Has anyone else repeated a week and has it helped? I did manage it but it nearly didn't. I'm 66

sorry - meant to put that comment to nobody in particular but it looks like you are at the same stage as me anyway!!

Well done.

Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

This post about mental approach may help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do this.

I’m 52 and I’ve just done wk4 run 2 - like you I was apprehensive! Don’t be, the programme really works. 😀 I just took it really, really slowly all the way; music on and before I knew it, it was done! You can do this! 👍👏🏻

Thanks, I only go very slowly anyway. Good luck with your next run.

Me to I’ve just done week 3 run 3 so slowly. Only a pace of 11.40mins a km. wondering if I should go into week 4. ? But I’m so chuffed with myself for getting this far. Like a lot of people I thought I’d use lockdown to achieve something. I’m 65 and 30lbs overweight so it’s tough going. Well done everyone in this category we are at least doing it. All be it super slowly. 👍🏻👍🏻

I'm going to give it a go, just worried my legs won't last as they feel like lead by the time I've finished. Good luck!

Well done! I am here to tell you that if you put your mind to it you can do this! I graduated 2 years ago as I hit 50 and like you had not exercised since school - and even then I'd take sneaky short cuts in cross country and dip out whenever I could 🙈 I find running very difficult but the mental pay off afterwards is what does it for me! For the last 7 months I've done zero running - so I've restarted C25k having just completed W1 and it's reminded me not only how excruciating it is at the beginning, but also how good you will feel as you prove to yourself that you can do the longer runs aswell 👊 I would not be wasting my time redoing this if it didn't work - just saying 😊😊 Keep going!x
