Another good run tonight. I can’t believe the progress I’ve made, I was tired before I set off so some parts were tougher than my last run but I knew I could handle it so just kept going and felt great when I got home 😄

That’s amazing to hear!! It’s the best feeling getting home and thinking I’ve done it!! Yeayh!!

Im giving u a social distance high five 🙌🏽

I’m one run ahead of you and I really struggled with motivating myself for the first run, but Now I’ve completed it, it’s all go, go, go!

Tinos isn’t it 🙌

Woohoo well done you ! We’re doing great aren’t we 😉

Well done you!

I did the same run as you today. I never would have thought 28 minutes running could be possible a few weeks ago. I don't give a toss how much my bits wobble any more! ;-)

Hi. I was feeling exactly the same tired...but I made the effort and it was worth it especially when ive upped the pace at certain intervals

Week 8 run 3 next...looking fwd to it 👍

Well done! It’s always worth it isn’t it I’ve really noticed that no matter how I feel before I go I always feel better afterwards!

Although your mention of upping the speed has set my competitive gremlins off 😣 but I’ll put them back in their box cos I don’t want to injure myself and not be able to finish 😂

Haha you do right. I found i upped my pace for the first time the last run.. just short spurts but it all helps. I also do slight inclines which help as try and maintain the same speed.

Guess we are runners now ..I certainly try and convince myself Im one 😁😁

Yes I do feel like a runner now, even a novice runner is a runner 🏃‍♀️ 😄

Well done!!! 🎉. Does it feel a big step up from week 7? I guess just a few minutes so more about consolidation now?

Workingathome profile image
WorkingathomeGraduate in reply toFreedomToRun

No it didn’t really feel like a step up, your right it’s more about consolidation I think, it’s just about getting used to not having walking breaks and ensuring you keep a steady pace so you make it to the end. I did feel it in the last 5 mins so that’s the buy that is building the stamina I suppose

That’s encouraging to hear well done ! I am languishing and trying to pluck up courage after two weeks off for a niggly knee which I think is ok now. However now worried I have undone all the good work and won’t make it .28 mins now seems impossible and will give up ! Mindset mindset mindset .....got to get out there .. got to get out there ..... 😳

I’ve been lucky and not needed a break so far but I’ve read posts on here that say you don’t really lose fitness if you’ve only had 2 weeks off, but if you’re worried why don’t you just repeat a week 7 run as you already know you can do that, do it nice and slowly and it will build your confidence for week 8. Good luck

Thank you 🙏🏻 your words of wisdom encouraged me to get out this morning to see how it went and I managed albeit snail 🐌 pace week8 r 1. I went round a reservoir on mud path which I guess has less impact than concrete and also have stretched when back at home instead of collapsing in a snotty heap. Your body remembers it was all in my mind that I wouldn’t be able to do it . 😀Onwards and upwards ! 🤞

Oh bless you. Well done indeed that’s so great! Onwards and upwards and the very best of luck you’ll be graduating in no time

We are at the same part of the programme though I had to take a week of when I got the blasted virus. Frankly the running has helped enormously to get through this awful time. Well done on week 8. Perhaps we will finish the programme together.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had the virus but good to hear you’ve recovered well!

It’s great to have a fellow runner at the same stage... I’m hoping to finish a week on Saturday if all goes well 🤞

Well done! Isn’t it a great feeling to know you can handle it even when you don’t feel 100% on your game. I completed W8R1 on Sunday and have had to have an extra rest day due to a recurring ankle problem which is a shame as I’m well motivated to complete the programme as soon as possible. Can’t ignore the body though. I’m hoping that it’ll be ok to run tonight so fingers crossed. Best of luck for your final five runs 👌🏽

You are doing so well! Not long until graduation now....

I did run 2 today and enjoyed it. I bought some stretchy knee supports as a preventative measure at the start of week 3, which I had been using, but I did without them today and was fine. I must say that I was motivated by vanity though - I had my running skort on and didn't want to have a pale band round my legs if I caught the sun. What an embarrassing admission to make! :-O :-)

Haha I love that! And well done

Katkins27 profile image

Haha whatever motivates you . No way could i wear a skort. My legs remain covered.. . 😂

Got my skort on, desperately trying to rehydrate after VE Day festivities...am I mad to be running with a fuggy head?!
