So, I got through the run but found it so tough especially about 10 mins from the end of the run, and felt like giving up but pushed on through, am left in Slinkys wake though, (she's doing so well) as I have to back off or feel like throwing up, and takes me a while to recover on the cool down walk and beyond.. Probably just an off day.. My thoughts have been, how am I going to carry on running for 30 mins and will I be able to carry on running beyond c25k, so could be negative mental ideas creeping in.
Maybe I need to do more crosstraining on my non run rest day, been feeling lathergic and sitting more..
Bit of stress with this lockdown maybe, hopefully it'll pass..

Aw mate, you don't want to be throwing up, backing off is definitely preferable! This is such a strange time, my energy levels are all over the place, and so is my sleep pattern. Same for lots of my friends. I'm following a couple of exercise classes on zoom, that are the same time every week so there's a bit of structure in my life. Something like that might help? In the meantime, you absolutely know you can run for 30 minutes, show those gremlins who's boss. And embrace your inner snail, he just wants to be loved! 🐌 😊
Good to know I am not the only one! I'm just behind you at the start of week 8. I have always done the runs, but literally only just, and sooo slow! I know the program works because from week 1 I found 60 second runs made me feel knackered, so to be able to do 25 mins non stop is miraculous, but I'm waiting to reach the point where I find running easy/enjoyable!!! Hopefully in a few weeks. Just need to push through. Good luck!
I’m starting W7 this week and I have definitely found that a steady pace is the key to managing the long runs. My aim is to graduate then build to 5K - I’m not even worrying about times at the moment. Snails 🐌 and tortoises 🐢 all the way!
I find that doing my usual gym classes ( online at the moment) on my rest days really helps. I’ve got access the Les Mills programmes while my gym is on lockdown. I’ve discovered a runner’s stretch session which I always do when I get in from a run. Lots of leg stretch and hip openers. So far 🤞🏼this has stopped me aching.
I have also found my energy levels are up and down during lockdown which I definitely think is linked to stress levels but the runs I find really help with that. I’m getting to like this running malarkey!
Be kind to yourself you’re doing great. One step at a time.
I think what also helps is that my wife is doing c25k with me, so there's motivation, and the fact that I've completed c25k before in 2015, so this running malarkey has been inbedded in me, so more able to push on through the rough bits.
So, Keep on what you're doing you're all doing fine..
