W5R3 why was I apprehensive?

I’ve done it, and it was fine. Ok, the first few minutes are still not good, laboured breathing and hating it, but after that I settled into a slow jog and got the mental thing under control. Really surprised when Jo said ‘just 2 minutes left’ - such a good feeling. Started on April 1 and now byMay 2 can run (jog, whatever) for 20 minutes non-stop! Woo-hoo!

So good to hear! I did W5 R1 today, so you can imagine how I'm feeling...

Yes I can, but honestly, I am a believer in this plan. If they say you are ready to do it, you are. Good luck - it’s a great feeling afterwards! 👍

The first few minutes of a run are called 'the toxic ten' the ten being the first ten minutes of a run, that is because the body is not used to running, it does not need to be ten minutes as was the case with you being only a couple of minutes.

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊

Thanks, yes, I’ve heard the start of week 6 can catch people out. I will find out on Monday, bit I have faith in the plan, they seem to know what they are doing with us all 😀

Is that why I've been finding the first run of the session hardest? Thought I was weird!

Litorun, you are NOT weird, 😊

Well done. I’m just back from run 2, wk5 and wondering how the 20min run on Monday will go. I struggled at the very beginning of the first run which is unusual for me since week 1 but I got going and felt ok on the second 8mins. Even managed my slight hill at the end ok. Just have to hope it’s still dry on Monday

Fingers crossed for dry weather for you! I did my worst hill bit at the start, at least it got it over with. Still a chilly northerly wind though. But you can do this!

Well done! I did the same run today too. It’s such a great feeling, being able to run for 20 minutes. Bring on week 6!
