Week6 Run3 - running with the forum 😍

Feels like such a milestone. 25 minutes of slow steady running.

I do have a speed gremlin that says in my ear go faster, you’re hardly running and you’re looking silly.

But I also had this forum on my shoulder saying go slowly and pace yourself. ❤️

It felt tougher on my legs but no real pain.

If I can get rid of the speed gremlin I might just do this.

To anyone starting, I could hardly run 1 minute 6 weeks ago. My knees hurt so much I had ice on them after each run, I fell flat on my face onto hard pavement. Smashed my phone, hurt my knee (again), cuts and grazes. I’m a disaster zone. But...

WOW I JUST DID 25 MINUTES 😍💪👏🌈🎉🎉

Ahh thanks! I am the slowest runner in town. But I’m trying not to worry about what people might think watching me. After all I can’t keep getting new phones 😀

I forgot to say, I know what you mean about the speed gremlin i struggled with that too but I think/hope I’ve cracked it and just remember all the fab advice on here and take it nice and slow (but once I’ve finished C25K I know I’ll try to up the speed 😉🤷🏻‍♀️)

Pleased I’m not the only one. Really trying to shake that gremlin off because I think it stops me from enjoying my pace! No way I’ll do 5k in 30 minutes but sounds like that is normal. Think you are a couple of runs ahead of me so its been good to read your progress. Really helped!

If I stay at the speed I’m at I’d be looking at about 40 mins for a 5k and I’m trying to be ok with that. I just don’t do slow in normal life but it seems to be the only way with this so slow it’s going to be for a while longer while I build my strength and stamina

I’m around 45 minutes for 5k but as you say we can pick up later. Thanks so much for the support!

Brilliant well done!! I am on week 5run 1 which was ok- I run very slowly also but don’t care! My knee is an issue so praying it holds out as for some reason this programme is highly addictive isn’t it!! 😀

It certainly is addictive during these weird times. A feeling of freedom! I had huge knee issues so really sympathise on that. Good luck with W5R2 😀
