Urgh so annoying. Finally felt good with the heel and felt the plantar fasciitis was under control, after a couple of weeks of looking after my feet and calves. Had some energy left after a decent day at work so thought I'd continue the programme before doubt sets in - been itching to run for the last two weeks. Thought I could feel a tiny bit of pain as soon I put my running socks on... But it was probably just paranoia.
Good news - my heel was fine! Think I may have started a little quick so steadily brought my pace down so I could comfortably breath in through my nose and able to talk in full sentences.
Bad news - 12.5mins the back of my left knee started to feel stiff and started to feel pain, I started walking and jogging to see if it would go but eventually decided to stop running at 15minutes. Doh! So frustrating the last time I had this pain was run 1 week 1 after which I thought I had managed to learn to Japanese running, light footing, correct posture, knee exercises. But grrr it still came back
Gutted, atm hurts to walk up and down the stairs if I move too quickly. I think I'll give it a couple of days rest see how it feels and try again, but even slower!

Really feel for you F1... I would urge you to rest and look after it for a couple of days. I’m a bloke with a certain stature, and I’ve realised it takes my body longer to heal, just down to the load I am placing on it when I run, I’m down to running every three days in an effort to avoid any major injuries.
How disappointing and frustrating for you! I feel for you. I recently had to take 4 rest days due lower back pain, so I know how you feel. Hopefully it will be better in a couple of days.
I'm glad you're back running atleast back pains can go on endlessly so you're quite fortunate you could rest for 4days. Do you still have niggles in your back?
Really sorry to hear this. It’s my big fear as I have all of them - plantar fasciitis, Morton’s neuroma, metatarsalgia. Have you done any physio? I had to have injections in my feet last year but I got physio, orthotics, proper shoes that I literally wore for a year (including dinners and work!) and its doing ok now...I really wish you a speedy recovery so you can continue. Good luck
Thanks, yeah, must be difficult managing all of that. No doubt if your anything like me it probably causes greater anxiety whilst running.
I started some physio 3 years ago when I was trying to run 10k when the knee issue kept popping up. Unfortunately I soon moved towns twice so couldn't complete the physio.
Yeah I also use insoles for arch support, but actually since lockdown I barely wear my shoes since I'm home most of the time so got my self a pair of arch pads I can wrap around my feet, definitely improved the heel pain. As well as doing excercise and stretches and using a rolling pin. There's so much to consider its almost requires an obsession just to be fit enough to actually run safely lol.
Yes you should take some rest and I would suggest talking to a professional about best ways of protecting yourself from injuries if you haven't done it already.
You have specific conditions that can keep you from running for a long time if you put too much effort, so take care ok?
Thanks Zinza yeah I did seek help a 3 years ago when I was running. But didn't quite get to the root of it other than tight hantrings, house moves and job changes meant I became inactive and forgot all about it until I started running this year.
Was thinking the excercises and the slow increases in the programme were helping, but the 2 week break didn't seem to help. I'll try resting and strenthening once more and if that doesn't help will see the GP. I dont have any pains today which is good.
Quick update, my leg has felt pain free the last 2 days so I thought I'd go out again.
This time I was going super slow Japanese running, pretty much the pace I brisk walk at.
Felt a twinge from around 12.5mins but kept going, trying to soften my steps and shorten my strides as much as possible. Then with 5 mins remaining I thought I'd make it as I couldn't really feel the twinges or aches much. I'm hardly sure I was really running at this point though... unfortunately the knee started getting really tight and if I kept going it would start to hurt as I barely even had a spring to my "strides".
Got to 23/25minutes before I called it a day with barely a sweat and walked home, without any pain.
On the walk home some guy shouted at me from the passenger window of a car passing by, I couldn't hear what he said though as I have idiot-cancelling earphones thankfully.
Anyway had a bath with some ache releasing salts and so far it hasn't hurt to walk up and down the stairs so I think I managed to avoid further injuring myself.
I think provided my legs can stay pain free I'll keep attempting this run every few days no matter how slow I take it. Its still the most I've "ran" in the whole programme. So I'm not feeling dissapointed. I'll get there one day.
