Tickled Pink

Over the last few weeks on a Wednesday morning I have been increasing my runs by 1 Kilometre a week, this morning I ran 8K in just under a hour, I hoped it would be under a hour as I set my metromone app at 166 cadence/steps/beats a minute, so that helped me to keep a even pace and complete that 8K in 59.48, hence me being tickled pink with my time.

Thanks Floss, it's the longest run I have ran this year and was hoping the 8K would be under the hour which it was, next week 9K.. 😊 🏃🏾

Great job Al! Is that a park you run through?

AlMorr profile image
AlMorrAmbassadorGraduate in reply to grumpyoldgirl

No, it's not a park in the sense of a park, usually I run round that loch, however as you see this morning I only ran on one side of the loch, at the start it's parallel to a road but with a lot of trees between the path and road, the shoe shape at the left of the map is through a wood which I ran two times to make up the 8K, I hoped I would be sub 60 minutes which I was, next week 9K. 😊 🏃🏾

You probably do the big 10K on your next run ALMoor I done something similar and when I got to 9k I thought I can do 10K and I did I wouldn’t be surprised if you do it to 👍

I am a Graduate10, I am rerunning them again as the last time I ran a 10K was last October, hence the 1 Kilometre a week increase.

The target today was achieved, the next target is in two weeks time when I hope to run my first 10K this year.

Thank you Lexi6, I notice that the lockdown in New Zealand has been relaxed a bit, that is very good news.

Not much change for us older ones yet, but it will come hopefully. We had just 3 cases of covid 19 yesterday, so I know the restrictions are saving lives.

Thank you Vegout25, I am a graduate10, but the last time I ran a 10K was last October, since around the beginning of March I have been increasing by 1 Kilometre a week on a Wednesday to get back to 10K, yesterday was 8K, next Wednesday 9K and the first 10K I will run this year will be in two weeks.
