My funny friend

This is Michel, a rather rum fellow from Cordes. He likes a glass of wine or twelve (yes really) but gets up every morning and walks for an hour and a half, covering around 8K. He's told me some very interesting routes, I did one of them this morning, 5K of deep mud and stones, up and down a mountain...He's the only person I know who walks or runs around here, it's pretty unusual for the French. He reminds me of Benny Hill! He's a bit of an inspiration to me, not least because I know he'll ask me if I went out this morning! Merci Michel, mon ami de route!

What sweetie! Yup, t's rare - most of the oldies around here sit on the walls and stare at passers-by. Just make sure he doesn't do a real Benny hill and chase you around the fields.

I often cross him on the way round, I've been waiting for ages for my chance to sprint up behind him yelling "they're coming they're coming! Run away quick!" in my Vache Espagnol French....

I know Cacassonne, Cordes is quite similar with it's Bastide atop the hill .
