Finally graduated! Pushed past week 8 thanks to the help on here. Would like like an extension on it though so I can actually get to my 5k, I do feel a bit cheated!. My goal is to mix up my longer runs (increasing 10% weekly) with with some interval training to improve pace/time. So pleased I finished considering I ran through wind and rain and various storms in February!
Finished!: Finally graduated! Pushed past week... - Couch to 5K
Finished!
Fantastic
Well done to you. I hope I manage to keep on going. I'm only just into week 2. But I am determined to give it my best
What distance did you actually achieve in 30 min? I'm doing 3k on week 3 and I feel like an old person would walk past me quicker
3.5k not including warm up/down about 8.5mins per km. I was running faster but running out of steam and not completing the runs, so slowed my pace to get to the end.
Congratulations on your graduation, that is fantastic.
I know what you mean about running through storms and other bad weather, I only graduated myself at the end of Feb.
You have the right idea on how to improve your pace and time, but all in good time.
For now, celebrate your achievement in graduating and wish you happy running for the future.
Well done again !!
Congratulations on your graduation, fellow runner.

Keep running, keep smiling
Only 20% of graduates make it to 5k in 30 minutes, so don’t be disappointed. In fact , I still can’t do it, nearly two years later, but what I have done is run 5k, 10k and 10 miles. I will keep going to parkrun and try to get under 30 minutes, but if it doesn’t happen I still love running.
Well done getting this far, forget about distance for now and just keep up the time running and walking if needed to complete the 30 mins. I never reached 5K till way after graduation and even now sometimes only just make it tired. Laura (final run) and some good music accompany me even now every 🏃♂️ and gradually improved distance without really noticing. If I did not have my MapMyRun to look back on I would never really know. Keep doing what you are doing and let the distance and improvement come with practice and hopefully prevent any injuries. All the best 😎
