Hello! I started my c25k today. I am very overweight and need to lose 8 stones. The run went well although I was very very slow, but I didn’t give up, and I will be doing my second one on Monday. Has anyone got any tips?

Congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1, tips, take all the runs slowly, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water the day before you run and the day you run, keep ridgidly to the program, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury, good luck for your running journey with C25K 😊 🏃🏾. 👍

Welcome and great job. Not much I can add to the tips, especially as IannodaTruffe has linked the guide above... but I wanted to add to the congratulations. The run went well, you didn’t give up, and that bit about “very very slow” is a positive, not a negative, so I didn’t get the “although” bit!

What you did today remains the toughest run I’ve ever done (and I’ve done several 10 mile plus runs) you’re now on the way to seeing just how awesome you really are. You can do this... and then you can achieve anything else you want to... enjoy your journey.

Well done! You have done the hardest run of all. Give yourself a massive pat on the back!

Well done. I completed week 1 today😀I’m also very overweight and found that the stretching exercises afterwards are a must. I also do them on the days off as my legs ache a lot and my muscles feel tight, the stretching helped.
