Hi, I’m new to running and am currently on week 4, for the last couple of runs I’ve been getting increasing ankle pain , worse on my left ankle, and after my last run it was swollen. Any suggestions on how I can avoid this and how long I should rest up??

Never run if you have a injury, if it persists go to your doctor.

As others have said, don't run if you are injured.
But also, you might want to look at the running shoes you are using.
Getting the right ones can be very important, especially if you are having some problems.
As I'm an older runner, I went to Athletes Foot to get fitted and it has made a big difference to me.
Hi Michelle. I'm doing c25k for the second time. Currently week 7. I had the same problem 1st time. Completely solved by having gait analysis and new trainers fitted. My sister started c25k just before lockdown and I advised her to get trainers fitted before she started. She was convinced she already had perfect running shoes so ignored me. By week 3 she'd had gait analysis!! Lol. It really is crucial and makes the difference re injuries. I've had no problems 2nd time round with the right trainers from the get go. It's worth the investment but might not be an option currently. Good luck tho, it's worth it in the end 👍
