W7R3 surprising myself

Well that’s week 7 complete. Really pleased with my progress so far. After run two I thought I might not be able to run today as my legs ached quite a bit it after but I managed today just fine. I have also noticed my snail pace has increased slightly in the second half of the run. Going to have a good rest now until I start week 8 on Sunday.

Well done. You are an Inspiration to me. I am on week five. Never thought of myself as a runner.

Thank you. I never thought of myself as a runner either. Approximately 9 weeks ago I walked Corby 5k with my daughter and her running friend. I really struggled to complete it and now I have run for 3, 25min runs this week. Another bonus is I got my bike out the other day and went on my normal bike ride and I couldn’t believe how easy it was. I have definitely become fitter too.

Great way to do it. Starting steadily and building up. Well done. Pace is not important as this adapts with experience so keep doing what you are doing.

Well done.

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.

Thanks, also having a short walk later in the day of a run seems to help me. If I sit around all day after a run I ache more. X

Well done. I’m one run behind you. It’s amazing the progress you can see in such a short space of time isn’t it?

Thank you It’s fantastic, going to take the next 6 runs steady. I don’t want an injury so close to the end goal. X

Yes, I was worried about that to, I was wondering how I would manage just running around our garden 😂

Ours isn’t that big. I did read about a woman who ran a marathon on her drive. I bet that was boring 😂
