Week 4 done!

Very pleased with myself! I am, however, struggling with hills. My new tactic is to run as far up an incline as I can and then, when I feel like I can’t push anymore, turn around and run back the way I’ve just come. Feel like I’m cheating a bit even though I know I’m not. If that makes any sense? Luckily the one pictured here is part of my 5 minute warm up!

You will become stronger through time and be able to tackle the hills better.. But I'm sure you already know that.

Keep going you are doing great. 😊 👍

I have no choice. I live in Yorkshire 😂

I managed not to run up anything for most of the 9 weeks 🤣 so you’re certainly not cheating by turning part way up... in fact this is a method that is used to build speed by lots of runners... that’s for after this plan though of course.

That hill in the picture would have me trying to time the end of warm up for the top, looks great to run down!

Great job on week 4... week 5 is awesome, enjoy.

Haha great skill. I’m sure the hills have been breeding round here while we’ve all been staying at home 😂

Well done on completing week 4 👏🍾🥂! Do you use Strava app for measuring the incline and your speed of tackling it? This option is free of charge.

I actually downloaded it this week but forgot to use it yesterday 🙄

Keep up the good work. On off days from runs, try and include squats and plank exercises to improve core efficacy.

Take care and have fun.

Ooh good tip. I’ve been doing the Joe Wicks PE lesson with my daughter and he loves his squats 😂

Yup that guy is awesome, especially for the children at home now. He gets them moving and it’s nice to know you do the workout with your daughter. Keep up with the Mom and daughter bonding ❤️

Take care, be safe and run happy 😊

He is doing such a good thing! Yep will do. I’m working from home and she’s doing school work so kinda tricky to do other stuff unless it’s the weekend but we always try and do the PE. Hope you are okay and managing with the new normal!

Over here in sunny Singapore, glad to have an awesome government. They’re doing their very best in containing the challenging virus. But must shout out to all our Health workers and those around this beautiful globe, “Great job guys ❤️“. It ain’t easy!

Take care, enjoy your lovely home and the new normal maybe here to stay...

Wow I’m impressed at everyone who does any kind of hill on this programme! You’re doing fabulously well and will soon be singing the Rocky song at the top of that hill!

Haha it’s on my playlist and I grin from ear to ear when it pops up on shuffle 😂

Sounds to me like you have just the right idea to tackle hills, a little more of a climb each run. You have added in a great hill-training regime into your C25k runs! Keep going. Think how satisfying it will be when you make it to the top!! 😊🏃‍♀️

So it’s not cheating then? 🤨 And Thank you for your kind words 💛

in reply to CobbleRunner

Absolutely not! It’s a great idea! Many people manage to run the whole C25k on the flat, then start to tackle hills. You are building hills into your runs and your stamina and legs will be stronger for it. I too can’t avoid inclines, but for every uphill there’s a downhill at the other side 😄!
