Week 4 done and new shoes

Hi everyone,

Well I completed week 4 run 3 this morning so I’m halfway through the programme.

As a reward for getting this far, yesterday I took a day off work and went to a running shop for a gait assessment. I got a pair of Asics Gel Cumulus 21 shoes. The name is appropriate - they really do feel like running on clouds.

It was a tough run today. I haven’t been eating or sleeping properly for the last couple of days. I was trying to run off heartbreak this morning. It has helped a bit. I think running will be very important in keeping me going over the next few weeks.

Bless your heart. I’m glad it helped a little bit at least. It’s good to have something positive to focus on when other things are tough going. Keep your chin up.

Congrats on getting to the end of wk 4! The shoes are lovely, good treat 😊

Thank you. It got me out of bed and I’ve done something positive with my day, even if I do nothing else. 2 rest days ahead, then onwards to week 5 😱

Sorry to hear about your 💔 It’s not easy, but I’m sure you will feel better eventually. Just take it one day at a time, and this running malarkey can only help. Great run, and great shoes too 👍😁

And try a bit of yoga on non run days too, it’s very relaxing, meditative, stress reducing, and will increase your strength, both inside and outside 👍☺️

Nice shoes! Sorry to hear about the heartbreak. Try make sure you're getting enough rest and nutrition and be kind to yourself. A treat now and then and a break when you need it. You'll get through this and be stronger for it.
