Just completed week 3 run 1. I’ve attempted to start running regularly dozens of times and started C25K about four or five times over the years and never got beyond week one. There are various reasons for this but the main one is that I’ve simply never enjoyed running. I’ve never seen what people can get out of something that hurts so much and that I simply didn’t think I was made for it. However, tonight was different. For the first time ever I enjoyed my run. I had put it off all day and was not looking forward to the step up from week 2. I was dressed in my running clothes for 90 mins before I went out. It would have been so easy to just sit in front of the TV and not go out but I looked on here and saw a lot of your posts and I was inspired to go out. It wasn’t easy though. Even on the warm up I was thinking about turning round but I’m so glad I didn’t. Once i started running I enjoyed every second. I’m starting to find it easier, I didn’t try to go too fast, I controlled my breathing and honestly didn’t want it to end. I know there is a long way to go but tonight was the first time I’ve thought that I can do this. Small steps on a bigger journey. So thanks everyone for your inspiration!

Welcome and very well done getting started. Most people struggle with running through misconceptions that you need to go fast, or it being more of a punishment at school! So pleased to hear that you had fun out there... TV and the couch are so much better after a run!
