W3R1 done without style

So I’ve been dreading this. The 90 second run, no problem - I didn’t start week 2 thinking that! The 90 second walk was way too short imvho and I was a bit out of breath at the start of the first 3 minute run. Own fault for too quick at the start. Lesson learned. Music volume drops and Jo Wiley comes over my headphones - that wasn’t so bad. Except she is telling me I am half way there. HALF WAY? But by the time she finishes I am actually two thirds of the way. My brain was telling me to stop and die but I pushed on and felt so good for doing so. Half distance sound goes off on the cool down and I am several hundred meters short of my usual turning point, so this week is actually less distance. Or I’m getting slower! Second 90 seconds was okay. Slower pace and panting. Final 3 minute was pure stubbornness. It was not easy but it was doable. Two weeks ago I would’ve laughed at the idea of this much running non-stop. Good luck with yours, everyone, and thanks for all the support.

Well done Jay66UK , it's your determination that will get you through this programme.

Happy running. :-)

Congratulations Jay. We did it!! 30 minutes is still a while off but we're a tenth of the way there.

Have a great day.

Thank you. I’m quietly chuffed. And noisily puffed.

Style is so over-rated; doing it is just the most wonderful thing and you have the best bits to come yet! Congratulations! 😊

Oh that takes me back!! I remember thinking at times "the app must have died, I've surely done it by now, may as well stop" and then being told I was halfway! 🤣🤣🤣

But it's so worth it and you feel so good for not stopping for not giving in to your body's desire to give up.

You're doing great, keep it up 👍😁

Hi , I have also just completed run 1 week 3 , and am unbelievably delighted with myself.

I look like an ungainly hippo on my treadmill but hey we’re doing it !!

You have the luck of privacy. I look like an ungainly hippo in the wild!

Jay...I wondered why I hadn't got as far as usual too! Thought I was going backwards! Checked the app three times as I was sure Michael had stopped working! But all good, we kept going. Well done us! 👍👍👍
